Why do we love MAGIC so much?
We live in a society that tries to make us grow up as quickly as possible. In fact, when we’re young, we want to be adults ourselves.
But once we become adults, we often look back nostalgically at the time when we were children. Everyone has their own reason for wanting to go back to those days.
Personally, I think what we miss is magic.
The feeling of the unknown. Of endless possibilities.
Is it really impossible? What if it’s real?
And the feeling that comes with it.
Do we love reading fantasy because we enjoy the story? Or because we want to feel that sense of “anything is possible” again? To experience it all over again, really.
It doesn’t really matter what kind of world we find ourselves in. Whether it has magical powers or not, dragons or no dragons . . .
As long as it doesn’t look like our reality, it’s good enough.
And all the time we spend in these worlds gives us that feeling we try so desperately to hold on to:
The feeling of being a child again.
So I say: Keep reading to make the child inside you happy.
Because when that child is happy, you are happy.
You don’t need magic for that.
